stop/start failure.
#1
Sad
The stop/start system on my B9 2012 has failed.  Does anyone have any info on replacing these, as there's nothing in the Haynes?  It's a 1.6 e-HDi.

It's causing an occaisional engine failure light Sad , which Citroen tell me is because the module and capacitor/condenser need replacing.  They want £1200, which seems a bit steep.

I'm sure I've read on here before that there's a UK-based specialist in Berlingo engine parts, but I can't find anything through searching.

Thanks!

My 2014 Airdream 90 (42K) has the same problem. Runs fine, except the stop/start doesn't activate. The ECO light flickers for a second, then goes out. It's not been accidentally switched off, and it doesn't work even when all accessories like wireless, aircon, fan, wipers and lights are off (except DRLs). I seem to have read on this forum that it might need a new battery but it does everything perfectly except the stop / start. Admittedly its only done 400 miles in the last 16 months, but it starts from cold OK.

I think there's a special / very good start/stop battery that's been recommended on here but I can't find it. (Not good at computers / cars).

The stop/start systems require the correct battery to work properly and one that is holding a very good charge or else the system will shut down. The batteries for this type of system are not cheap and its no good cutting corners as its a false economy. You dont say what citroen have said is wrong with the system or what faults have been stored on the car. I may be worth getting a second opinion from a citroen specialist, where are you in the country other members may be able recommend an independent near you.
Are we there yet????? Huh

Thanks for your reply.  It's the start/stop module and capacitor/condenser which they say needs replacing.

I'm in the Bath/Bristol area.

Thanks for the reply.   Smile   It'd be a shame if it were the battery, as it was just replaced last year!  Citroen reckon it's the entire start/stop module and capacitor which needs replacing.

I don't get the same symptoms you're getting.  Start/stop just doesn't work any more, and instead I sometimes get an engine warning light.
