Egr

Hey guys..

Cleaned my egr because it gave a error.

Gonna need the car next weekend for a 700km Drive.
350 back and forth.

I cannot get a new clamp on time here if i order one.



I removed the click r clamp with the appropriate tools.
But could in no way make it fit again.?

What i now did was cut the old click r clamp i  half.
And put on side of it, on top between the egr and pipe connection.
Then i put a normal hose clamp over it on top..

Do you think this will hold? Or should i send it to a workshop and get a borrow car ??

Note the teflon tape is just to hold the clickr part in place as i mounted it..

Hmm, it might hold or might not, depending on the vibrations of the engine. If I were you I would put a blanking plate between the engine and the EGR. If the hose clamp moves, there will be no gasses going around. It will be safer for your long journey, then you can fix it when you come back.
I would cut aluminium beer or coke can to save you time ordering a proper blanking plate. Use the current gasket as pattern.
