[Engine] Turbo oil leak
#1
Afternoon all,

Noticed a little oil dripping from the sump pan. Only a couple of drops but still, a leak. Investigated and found the oil feed pipe from the top of the turbo was a bit black with the stuff. Took the top banjo off and found that the pipe into the collar was loose -couldnt pull the pipe out but it could be wiggled and moved around in the collar. Put it back together again and ran back down from Carlisle to home(360 miles at a nice steady 58mph) stopping a couple of times and it was sound with no more seepage. It also seemed a bit loose on the bottom banjo where the gauze filter is. Surely those crimps should be solid.

Any ideas ?

There are not supposed to be solid, as wiggle room is needed. The only requirement for these is the outlet pipe to be centered. If it is touching the sides of the banjo bolt, it will weep. There were specific angles for the tightening, but I can find it later on. It is shown in more details here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHY_uPbPfyg
