Hi All
This is my first post so hello and I hope you are all well...
We have a 2012 Berlingo multi space that is automatic, in the past week when we turn the dial to Reverse it doesn’t engage, put it back to neutral back into Reverse and it works, similar in auto, yesterday when driving in automatic it went from Auto to showing Neutral on the dash and when you tried to accelerate it obviously was not in gear, Again back into Neutral into automatic and away we go, what I have noticed is that the car only does this fault in the first 20 minutes of driving along with bringing up the gearbox fault sign on the dash where the time and date is displayed, once the 20 minute ish time has been driven no warning light message comes on all the remaining day.
Also I notice from time to time it seems to crunch into first gear but not every time.
The car only has 56k on it so very low miles.
What do you think could be the cause? I thought possibly gear box oil but have been told gearbox oil is for the life of the vehicle but also being told otherwise, I cannot see anywhere in the servicing schedule gear box oil change, i have also been told the clutch as I am told these automatics do have a clutch.
Been told £1200 if it’s the clutch no price for an oil change asked yet..
As you can see you offers of help and ideas would be very much appreciated in order to not spend unnecessary large amounts of cash
Thank you very much and have a good weekend.
