Can you check the boost pressure, rail pressure, airflow etc via Lexia & see if anything looks odd?

Hi possibly but I'm not that familiar with it yet played with it for hours on end and keep finding new things lol

Just an update all lexia readings where fine apart from 3 things going invalid value for the EGR when revved so I put a cleaner through the air system and the smoke has halved and the van is running better but not great so would you agree that it points to the EGR valve been faulty even though there are no fault codes popping up for it

What do you mean by invalid value, is Lexia showing invalid values for the EGR when revved?

Cleaner through the air system would not be so good, try taking the EGR valve off and cleaning it properly. Might as well recalibrate it with Lexia after cleaning it.

Yes lexia readings giving invalid value readings for the EGR when revved I used EGR cleaner and it helped but still a bit to smoky and some hesitation at low speed then turbo kicks in and it go's like a rocket

Getting to the EGR on my van is a nightmare hence cleaning without removing I just need to make sure its faulty before I buy a new as id go for genuine valio EGR and don't want to waste any more money on this van

And yes I will recalibrate it forgot about that thanks

If I were you I would clean the EGR before buying a new one. They are rather expensive and it is a hit and miss with these. It might be full of carbon (likely, but depends on the mileage) and stuck on the open position, hence potentially you could get constant flow of air that does not have very much oxygen in it. The ECU though should report this as an error, so that is a bit weird that you do not have a fault recorded.
My replacement one was Hella and I am pretty happy with it, no errors and working flowlessly for ~3 years now.

Hi the mileage is 154.000 miles its just such a big job to remove it to clean then put it back to only find out it never worked that's what's bothering me I'm not in good health so would probably lay me up for days lol

I can get a brand new Valeo EGR for £95 so not to bad I guess
