Well, as you guys anticipated, here’s conclusive proof a 2006 instrument cluster won’t work in a 2004 2.0 HDi! Went through all Lexia menus to no avail. Sadly, that’s £150 in clusters and an evening’s work to fit the mph dials down the drain. Never mind, eh! We live and learn. I’m hoping it’ll be of some use to somebody though. Looks really good too!
This looks like the Xmas lights that you get with the 1.6HDi when the CC is set to type 1 and the instrument cluster is with the CC LCD or CC is set to type 2 but with the original instrument cluster. I cannot quite remember what the options were, but there are two settings for the CC. If these are mismatched with the Instrument cluster then you get that, i.e. the Xmas lights. Not sure if the 2L HDi ever had CC LCD display and it is not only the 1.6HDi.
Is this the Berlingo instrument cluster or the 206 automatic?
I suspect you have tried both options for the CC with the new Berlingo Instrument cluster?
Does it run with ther Xmas lights and does the CC also work?

I couldn't find the option for CC type 1 and 2 in Lexia. Maybe that's a Peugeot-only thing, relating to the Siemens ECU? My ECU is Bosch.

It is not Peugeot, but rather 1.6HDi-related. Maybe the 2L HDi is designed with only one type of instrument cluster. Perhaps someone with the 2L will confirm that there are no additional options in Lexia.

Yep, AFAIK it's an engine ECU thing.
I had the 'window' CC instrument panel in my Berlingo 1.6HDi and the 'plain' panel in my Berlingo 2.0HDi

Interesting stuff. Well, hopefully all this information (and all my calamitous fumbling!) will be of use to others in the same situation. The videos and information you guys have produced are fantastic. Really simple to understand and informative. I'm new to the community but it has so far been a really great experience. I write for UK motoring magazine Practical Classics, so will be covering all this in print over the next few months, as part of a series of features I'm writing about restoring and improving my Berlingo. Thank you again!

Great stuff James. Let us know when it comes out, it will be an interesting read.
I should probably write on my thread for the CC in the 1.6HDi that the LCD screen instrument cluster is only for the 1.6HDi, so people do not buy the expensive cluster.

Definitely! Now we know, it makes sense. I’m hoping somebody will buy mine now, so I can recoup some of the money lost and spend it on my faulty ABS sensors!

These are rather rare, so it is likely that you would be able to sell it and recoup the cost. Either through ebay or the for-sale thread in the forum. Just specify that this is to have working CC in the 1.6HDi (M59).
Edit: Just saw that you have it listed, hopefully someone interested in the 1.6HDi CC will get it.
