umeven tyre wear
#1
2012 van
Ive had it from new, now at 48k,no accidents and not abused
Rear offside tyre wears badly on the outboard edge.
I thought it was because there was a single Turanza but its now doing it to a Energy Saver
It passed three Mots in between these two tyres so I doubt its a bearing?
The offside wears ok and so do the fronts
My annual mileage is fairly low and I dont drive like a t*#t so wear and tear creeps up slowly for me- its probably been like it for years its just annoying and wasteful because there will still be 4-5 mm on the inside when the tyre is ruined.
What could it be?
It is on my to do list.
But not right at the top

drive the van loaded, it will wear even on the rear tyres, that's how they are made..

There are several posts about abnormal rear tyre wear on this and other forums. I seem to remember that despite official Citroen denial there had actually been a problem in manufacturing where some of the rear axles were mounted to the vehicle incorrectly.

That could be the answer.
They also denied front suspension problems just before changing the steering geometry
I jad a 2010 before this pne and it was totally different to drive.
It is on my to do list.

Maybe find a garage that does 4 wheel tracking/alignment - it will show if any of the wheels are not tracking correctly or if there are any odd camber issues with any of the 4 wheels. It could even be a front tracking problem, causing the rear to run crab-like. not part of the MoT, so won't be picked up - it could pay for itself in saved tyres.
