Hi folks... after being away from Berliingos for a while .. I decided to get back into them...
Ran them for quite a while and regularly did over 250k miles up and down the motorway.....
last one was written off in France.. but i had one that a guy was supposedly sorting...
he gave up and left lt ....
Well got it back to my mates yard after it sat for 5+ years...
My C3 Picasso was written off so decide to sort the Berlingo....
It's a 2000 2.0HDI about 120k
Apparently a rocker had broke, he took the head off skimmed it and replaced the rocker..
Then... put it back together but had no injector seals so they are missing.....
Gave it a wash and it looks ok.....
So other than sorting the seals think am looking at brake callipers and disks....
I am used to sorting cars (have a few classics) but always loved my Berlingos, loads of storage and reasonable performance.....
First prob was the bonnet latch has seized.. but a ratchet strap did the business but cable snapped at the handle end so will replace the inner cable... vinegar sorted he latch mechanism...
One day may get a Dangel 4x4..
It's a double slider van..
my brother has my old Partner that was written off so he can swap a load of bits to keep his running...
So i may use some of the interior stuff like the rear seats.... and some trim to cut down the "Booming"
Also looking at whether remapping for better mpg as I may be renovating a property in France....
