Can't reset Average Fuel Consumption and others
#1
Hi. I've bought Berlingo 1,6 HDI Multispace 2011 and i've found some little problem.
I can't reset Average fuel consumption/Distans travelled/Average speed on the middle display - Distans travelled is 9999, average fuel is still 7 liters. It's the simplest display, Monochrome Screen A in instruction. I can change all five informations pressing the button at the end of the wiper stalk, so the button is OK, but when i press it down for 10 or even 30 sec, nothing happens.
I've visited a few car mechanics, but without success. I've disconnected car battery for the night, but it didn't help.
Any ideas?

To reset the screen you must push the button shown below. I think it is the right hand one.

This's not what I mean. Not trip recorder but trip computer in the central console.

And the button at the end of the wiper stalk.

And i can't make this part "last trip computer zero reset". As it's said, i should press this button for a few seconds to reset average consumption and distance but in my case it doesn't work.

That's odd for sure, like you say the long press at the end of the wiper stalk should reset the various counters.

Looking at the time display on your car, are you able to set-up the date and time correctly on the unit??

Yes, everything else works fine - menu, settings, Current fuel consumption, Range.
Today or tomorrow i'll post real photos of my unit.

A couple of things I would try then. You say you've disconnected the battery before but have you done a BSI reset by following the correct shut down and reboot procedure before/after battery disconnection?

If you have already carried out a BSI reset as above, I would try unclipping the module surround [it does come out quite easily] but I recommend the use of plastic trim tools to avoid damaging the plastic surround and then unplug and check the connector for and corrosion on the pins [or any broken wires] Also it may be worth cleaning the pins with a specialised contact cleaner like Servisol or failing that clean with IPA. Do NOT use anything like WD40 on the contacts as this can cause more problems than it solves.

I had my module out last year as I had no temperature showing [just completely blank] and initially had thought it was the temperature sensor but it actually turned out to be the display itself. I got the part number off the back and got another one from Ebay for about £10 [the display is used in many Peugeot/Citroen models]

The car was probably retrofitted (is this right word?).
According to VIN there should not be trip computer or even cruise control and speed limiter at all. But there are. Cruise control works normally, speed limiter doesn't (dotted line blinks and i can't set speed limit). Car mechanic found that gas pedal is different than should be (according to VIN). When he has put the right pedal (without cc/sl sensors) computer and car go mad - gas pedal didn't work at all or engine didn't exceed 3000 rpm.
Reset BSI didn't help. Mechanic said that MAYBE hard reset and reprogramming BSI from zero will help.

It is very common for people to retro fit CC / SL & Trip Computer to these cars. The pedal also needs to be changed for the SL to work. My guess is that something has not been configured properly via Diagbox.
There are posts on here about all of these features, have a search around first and reply to any threads that you think may help. Post again here if you cannot find what you need.

After swiching a few gas pedals only pedal WITHOUT sl switch works fine, computer shows no errors and pedal and engine work fine (i can live with it, i don't use speed limit control). Pedal with cc/sl sensors generates a lot of computer errors, engine goes into backup mode.
But after this pedal changings cruise control starts to turn off during ride. At the begining of highway ride it turns off even every few seconds (as if I lightly pressed the brake pedal) and i have to press restore speed button. Longer i ride, less often it turns off. After 1-2 hours it works fine, but it can turn off on a bigger road bump or just after sudden braking after i press r/s button. Is it connected to this retrofitting? Ot is it coincidence and it's something with, for example, brake pedal sensor (cruiser turns off after city ride and frequent use of brake pedal)?
