chunky look
#1
well not been here long and I am inspired...
have a 2000 2.0 HDI double door slider.. so basically a car with no rear windows...

Spent a lot of time reading many posts and well t seems there s a lot more to Berlngos than i imagined... having had this 2000 one since 2001 (it has been off the road for the last 5+ years but that is being sorted...)

so  have decided I may join this great Modding scene...

I do like the look of the SBARRO CITROËN BERLINGO BOURLINGEUR
So wondered if anyone had created a more "off Roader" look..
raised suspension, possibly bull bar with extra spots and bigger chunky wheels....
and something like the LandRover Defender arches
and some light guards (these may need to be fabricated for the style I am thinking........

I may be looking at a stage 1 remap - suggestions welcome...
How hard would be speedo recalibration be if the Rolling Radius increased?

Any suggestions for appropriate wheels or raising the van a bit would be appreciated...
I appreciate to get the clearances arches will need to be cut out

I may alter the interior some leather seats and add some rear comfort/trim......

Project may take a while as I am renovating several cars and houses....

but as I said thoughts an inspiration welcome...

They look funky enough already, just put some knobbly tyres on it. and the lamp bar and call it a S Barrow and use it for carting your house renovation gear.
So where does this bit go then ?

I really wanted one when they first came out but couldn't afford one and the wife didn't appreciate them. Think I had a narrow escape with their rust behind the plastics issues etc.

It was the start of my appreciation of utility vehicles though. I qualified for a company car when I went into partnership with someone and wanted a C15 with side windows, both my partner and my wife (a different one) ganged up on me and I ended up with a Visa GT.

The Berlingo was purchased in 2005 without female intervention. Apart from my 7 year old daughter who wanted the blue one with the picnic tables and subsequently moaned for years about the lack of them on every long journey.  Big Grin

ohhh you cant beat a Matra Rancho these days....

All those cars we thought "ohhh " at the time.. now they have become cool...

My mate had one of those Renaults with the Umbrella gear levers sticking out of the dash.. (a 5  think)
Handled like crap gong round bends at speed (it was original his mums car so rarely went above 30 till he got it)
We all took the Pee... now... the van versions are very rare!!
