I think it might be referred to as 'ambiance' lighting in the manual, however I cannot find out how to adjust it.
Can this be done in low light conditions especially switching off during night time driving?

It's controlled via a menu option on the touchscreen - there is a slider type function to control the level of brightness from max to off completely. I normally have it set to off as it is very distracting when reversing at night. Just about to go out in it - I'll tell you exactly how when I return after looking at the screen again.

Desdinova it seems a good place to look, did you find the function?

Hi sorry, yes.
Touch the car image on the left hand side of the screen.
On the touch screen select "Vehicle Settings" at the bottom of the screen then select "Comfort"
This gives you the on/off toggle switch for the mood lighting and touching the gear wheels icon gives you the slider to control the brightness level

Many thanks Desdinova. I've only had this car 7 days and having read some threads on this forum I'm beginning to think there should be two years study and a GCSE qualification to understand this vehicle!

Difficult to believe but I drove my XTR for the first time at night, this week.
The ambiance lighting was on all the time with the headlights?
I expected it to go off as soon as I turned on the headlights.
I hate driving with any interior lights on.
So, it would appear the only remedy is to turn off the ambiance lighting via the touchscreen and then turn it back on when required for interior illumination.
Not sure I can be bothered with that every time I stop or start.
Why doesn't it go on and off with the courtesy lights?

Indeed, I was slightly disappointed in that when I first got the car. Normally I have it switched off.

Seems odd that it is on when I want it off and it is off when I want it on?
