How to test Air Con temperature

Finally got a digital thermometer as I feel I might need a regas.

I stuck it in the right hand face vent, all others closed, fan on 4, temp on lowest.

Had it in there for about 10 minutes and temperature was 9.7 and possibly still going down?

Should this be done with the control set to recirculate air or draw air from outside.

How long should It be left in the vent when in idle to test it.

What temperature should it go down to.

I suspect some answers might be that it depends on external temperature, so no heatwave at the moment with temp outside about 20.

Done some testing with outside air coming in and on internal circulate with not much difference in the result.

Outside temp of 19 degrees I get a air con temp of 8.6.

Outside temp of 16 degrees a/c temp 8.4.

looks like a regals Is needed ?

From your temperature measurements I would have thought them fine as they suggest temperature is controlled at around 8.5C even when outside temps differ -/+3C.

I tested it with all vents open, outside temp was around 25°C. air con temp of 5 to 6°C.

That sounds more like it should be and that was at a far higher external temp.

Regas on the way, now to find someone as the one I used has departed.
