K9 touchscreen & map update
#1
My Berlingo XTR was pre-registered in June 21 and I'm being told via Citroen app that there's and update already.

Just being paranoid maybe - Methinks maybe it's somewhat older?

Anyways it could just be a co-incidence Citroen decided to bring out an update now.

What is really of interest to me is the following:
1) Does the type of USB stick make a difference i.e. usb 1.0, 2.0, or 3.0?
2) Do SanDisk usb sticks work as they are not completely formatted due to their security apps installed on it?
3) I think you need to disable s/s system as it takes a long time so you need to keep the engine running. Yes/No?
4) Citroen says it takes 10's of minutes, the download over 100m/bit fibre broadband took nearly 2hrs. How long does it take to upload from usb to touch screen?
5) Finally how easy is it to brick the system if there's a glitch is there some sort of automatic built-in recovery system?

Waiting eagerly for a Berlingo Guru to answer these. Thanking you in advance to put my mind at rest.

From my own experience....

1) Don't know, only ever done it with a 3.0
2) SanDisk works fine for me - I've done three updates with one
3) If you simply start the engine without driving anywhere, the stop/start does not engage in the first place - at least not on mine.
4) Yes that sounds about right for the download - installation has typically taken between 45 mins and 75 mins on the updsates I have done - which is a bit of a pain, so take a good book with you Tongue
5) No idea - it has all worked fine for me in the updates I have done.

The head unit is old and proven. I doubt it would brick easily.
Never taken more than 20 minutes for me.

Can someone just confirm what the latest update reference number is? I think I might be missing it or one.
Now a 2019 K9 1.2 petrol.
Before a 2010 B9 1.6 HDi diesel.

Well thanks all,
I decided to go ahead and updated the touch screen and TomTom map given your experiences and all went well
Just for the record:
I used a Sandisk Extreme GO 64Gb USB 3.1 drive.
The firmware update was about 17GB and TomTom 27Gb taking an upload time of approx. 25mins and 60mins respectively.
During the TomTom update you might lessen the upload time and memory usage of the touchscreen by selecting only those country maps you are likely to use rather than accepting the default euro map as I did. I dont think Ill be going to Azerbaijan any time soon so I could have saved resources as mentioned earlier.
Worked first time without a hitch following Citroen's instruction .pdf

Didn't quite finish the book, maybe during the next update?
Happy motoring

Interesting I didn't know there was a non-nav variant. Is there a difference in screen size to?
