One for 130 diesel owners

I previously owned a Vectra C 2.0d it would only do automatic dpf regeneration above 3000 rpm at normal engine temperature, so is the Berlingo 130d similar? 

What engine conditions does the dpf undergo automatic regeneration?

Also how do you know it's doing it?

I have never seen it happening (lots of full clip highway driving) but my city driving colleague says the rpm and fuel consumption figures rise when cleaning the filter.

Thanks, must be that motorway driving keeping it clean. There's lots on the forum about Berlingo dpf having problems, but none of my previous diesels (mainly Vauxhalls) had a problem even though some of them covered 100,000+ miles.

Perhaps more stringent emissions have brought this upon us.
