Osram Nightbreaker 200 - any good?
#1
I miss the LED headlamps of my Suzuki and find the Berlingo lamps need greater light output and a whiter beam for my eyes.

These seem to be a possible improvement.

Anyone find them an improvement over the standard lamps and did the headlights require some sort of realignment for the ADAS auto dip system?

I use Osram Nightbreakers in my B9 Berlingo and find them a good improvement, both in brightness/penetration and also a better shape dip cut-off. There are several versions of Nightbreakers now and I can't be 100% sure which I chose. Its a straight trade-off with the different versions more light vs less life, and as I don't do big mileage or lots of night driving the reduced life doesn't worry me particularly.

I'm a cheap skate and buy the Osram long life bulbs, the headlamps of the Berlingo are pretty good compared to a lot of cars and I've never had an issue. Legal headlight bulbs give the same output otherwise they wouldn't be legal. The difference is the colour and the filters used on the bulb plus they burn hotter to get that white light. They also don't last as long and are prone to breaking if you hit a pothole etc. Steer clear of blue bulbs, eyes have difficulty in seeing any blue in the light spectrum in the dark. Incidentally the LED's are something else on my Ford better than HID's I had on my previous car.

I've fitted some Nightbreaker 200's to my K9 and am well pleased, a couple of years ago I commented on this thread that I'd fitted them to my previous B9 and noted the improvement. The only potential downside is that the lifetime is lower than a standard bulb but I'm not in the big miles night time driving category

Google Translate converts this to:

"I have had three Peugeot Partners and always fitted Philips Racing Vision or Osram Night Breaker lamps and they give a little more brightness. Now on the new Berlingo I have put 'canbus' LED lamps which perfectly replace the original ones but it's a completely different thing! You can also find them from Osram approved!"
