Seem to remember a few months ago a forum member raising the topic of "cult status" for the Berlingo. Thinking about this, its an interesting concept and I wonder if , in this day and age, this could ever apply to newer vehicles.
My own experience, way back in the early 70's, was of owning a SAAB 95 which was the station wagon version of the SAAB 96. All 95 and 96 drivers would wave when seeing another 95/96 driver and I'm sure that if there had been internet in those days there would have been a forum !
So what about it then - Will Berlingo drivers start giving cheery waves to fellow owners -or are we all just too cynical these days?
It would be intersting to hear what experiences forum members have had of owning a "cult" vehicle and whether they think there's hope for the Berlingo!

I wave at all the other 'billy buses' but they never wave back

I would have waved back too, at the expense of looking like a right cult....:censored::censored::censored::whistle::whistle::whistle:

ok so even though I live in north wales where, when I owned a few VW campers, and no one waved. I will wave at bingo drivers for a while longer, to see if any wave back. Doubt it up here, a funny bloody lot the welsh and the hippie drop out scene up here are too blotted to do much other than steer a straight course.
I have been waiving to see if any one responds but to no avail YET.....
Any forum members livce up here?
Pete

LMAO, here in very staid Switzerland, if you waved at another driver they'd stare at you like you shouldn't be out without a leash. Though, when I came back from shopping last week and approached my Berli in the parking lot there was an older couple looking mine all over and making very positive sounds about all the room and practicality.

Too many about here taxi'ing to wave at- also, a lot of the younger age group think the Blingo is quite cool, although like most things, it' s like marmite- love it or hate it !.

The waving thing only tends to work on niche or rare models though.. I used to wave/get waved at by other GTi6 drivers when I had my 6 and likewise when I had my old Vectra GSI. To most Berlingo/Partner drivers they're nothing more than a workhorse TBH, Especially the van variants! I'd give a modified one the nod if I ever spotted one though

Have nodded/waved a few times when passing fellow Berlingoists and seem to get little else but a blank (whose that then, do we know him?) expressions.
Of course this could well be due to the fact that some Berlingo drivers are travelling having reached a state of Nirvana.................................?
