UREA & engine light, Citroen goodwill claim.
#1
Quote:I have a 2016 1.6 BlueHDI 120 hp 16,000 miles- An engine warning light has come on but there is no fault code, it just reads as a temporary fault,  "fuel pressure lower than reference value" The urea light came on a while later but has since gone out again. I changed the fuel filter and the car is running perfectly, I just can't clear the engine light. Was thinking of changing the fuel rail pressure sensor but not sure if that's the answer? any ideas?

I posted the above message a while ago and this is the updated story, wonder if anyone has any ideas or comments? Thanks.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The engine fault light stayed on, a while later (week or two) the UREA light came on but went out again, this happened a couple of times and I could hear the pump running, which I never have before. Eventually the urea light stayed with a countdown to 700 miles before the engine would be prevented from starting.

I called Citroen regarding a goodwill warranty claim, as they failed to inform my of two recalls. It took a while of chasing before they agreed to book it in with a repairer and diagnose the fault etc. EMG Croydon did this, they changed the ad-blue cap, replaced the catalytic converter and updated the software (which seems to have fixed the display screen turning on and off randomly) They said that they tested the adblue pump and system and found no fault there.

However, a while ago I found some mice had been nesting in the fuse box, they had chewed the insulation on a few wires, but none were broken. I cleaned it up and wrapped the damaged insulation. EMG have said the problem is a broken wire and or fuse box and have quoted to replace the engine loom and fuse box at huge cost. I have now re-checked the cabling and there is no break in continuity but I can't be sure if there is a problem with a relay or connection buried within the fuse box. I can get a new fuse box & plugs to solder into the existing loom at a reasonable cost, any thoughts or advise? So far Citroen have covered all costs but the warning lights have come back on as soon as I collected the car (urea & engine fault) no 700 mile countdown as yet.

Had the same issue re' Urea and engine light, after weeks of resetting the faults with a cheap code reader had to eventually bite the bullet, purchased a brand new tank myself from ebay £669 and then payed Citroen £163 to fit and code it to the car. Seems it's a very common fault, but an expensive one, probably why it's not covered by a recall, it should be with the number of failures. Hope it helps.

Mark
