low beam trouble, Berlingo 2006

Hi there,

I have a Berlingo 2006 and got some problems with my low beams.
In the beginning, the low beams sometimes failed, but now they stopped working completely.
I checked the light bulb and they are OK. Fuses are OK as well. High Beams work perfect as well.
When I turn the low beams on, I hear the clicking of the relays, so this works as well.
But when I measure Potential on the fuse side (F9 / F10), the is no Voltage after turning on the low beams.

Does anyone know what causes the problem?

Hello & Welcome.

Your problem may be the relay in the BSI that controls the lights, or the connection from the BSI. I'm not sure which relay it is, but there are many reports of BSI problems on the M59, maybe a search on that topic will show something? Perhaps re-seating the connectors from the BSI as a start?

Although the relay(s) click they might not be making a connection on the main feed to the lights. It sounds to me like the switch side of the circuit is working but the main live to the lights is not getting through. With the fault having been intermittent it sounds like it could be a relay. I don't know where the fuse comes in the circuit but you can check if there is a live there just by going from the live side to earth with a test light.
