wheel offset

Finally worked out why I have clearance issues with the rear tyres & wheelarch.
Somebody has fitted wheels with the wrong offset.
Of course they don't have the ET number stamped on them,
so I had to measure them to find out.
I should have 14x5.5 ET24 and what's there is ET35 ish.
So that's 11mm closer to the body.
Wish I'd found out before I bought new tyres,
as if I'd known I need new wheels, I'd have gone for the 15's.
Tyres would probably be cheaper too, as 14" is an uncommon size now.

At least I don't have to go to Chard, yet.
