Horn/earth

Had a search through the threads about running a new earth to the steering column to cure a non-working horn. However my horn will only work with the inner (moving) column earthed. Am I missing something, or does that mean the problem is with the horn push contacts? TBH I'm a bit nervous of messing with the airbag.

I've got the same problem, MOT coming up soon!!! but I discovered on mine, if you take the keys out, turn the steering wheel until it locks, give the horn a couple of toots, it will work normally for a while, might be worth a try.

I had a similar problem. Cleaning the horns' contacts helped, the airbag should be removed to access the contacts. When the airbag removed, you can check the ground wire.

The battery must be disconnected before any work on the airbag!

Usually it is the earth return connection under the airbag that causes the issues - remake the connection with a screw or rivet rather than the push fit connection.
