Mk2 Berlingo - mud/snow tyres

I've been considering getting a couple of spare wheels and fitting them with winter tyres for use on the front wheels. Looking through the owners handbook today I noticed a warning that this type of tyre is to be fitted you should fit a specific type of wheel bolt which is 'available from your Citroen dealer' - of course! I must admit that I haven't read all the forum threads on these tyres, but have not read of this requirement in the ones I have read. I expect everyone else fits them though....or do they....???

Don't have a Mk 2 here but used the original bolts to mount my four winter tyres that are mounted on a spare set of standard steel rims. Never had a problem.

A little tip to the O/P

Fit winter tyres to all four corners, because, come the slippy stuff, if you fit them to just the front, you just may see the back of your vehicle trying to overtake you!

Winter tyres are not just for getting you out of thick snow they are for use in temps below 7degC including at motorway speeds in the dry. You need to fit 4. If you use the same steel wheels the bolts will be the same.

I also have M&S tyres on and used the normal bolts.

I can't for the life of me see why you would need a special bolt??

I would double check if you are going from alloy wheels to steel wheels, as the bolts might well be different. As said earlier, you need to fit winter tyres to the rear as well.
