Hi,
I have a 2 year old Berlingo Hdi and for the first 18 months everything was fine (approx 35,000 miles) but now around every 6 weeks the message ' Engine fault' appears followed by message ' Emissions fault' further followed by message ' Engine will be impossible to start in 750 miles' and it then starts counting down the miles.
I have had it in Citroen 4 times in the last 5 months due to this problem and they are telling me it is because I do not do long enough journey's, even though I start the engine at approx 4.30am and the engine runs constantly until at least 11am as I deliver morning newspapers, and then I am further driving it until about 2pm as I deliver flowers for my wife's shop. I work 7 days a week and this problem is causing major problems as I have to go to Citroen to book it in and then argue with them as they usually say they are booked up for 2 weeks in advance but unfortunately I can not afford to wait 2 weeks in case the engine cuts out, then when I get it booked in it means losing it for a day while they reset the ad blue sensor. I do not think the van is fit for purpose as the problem repeats around every six weeks, and today Citroen told me that if I keep the van next Sept (which I will not) then once the warranty is up I would have to pay to have the problem fixed every 6 weeks. Surely this cannot be right and as the van is only 2 years old does anyone know if I have any legal redress? This is my 4th Berlingo but most certainly my last, the customer service as well as the actual service is awful.
Does anyone else have this problem? Also I note there is a large law suit from 1000's of Citroen owners in the UK regarding an Ad Blue issue.
