(This post was last modified: 11-09-2021, 06:54 AM by smitch6.)
just picked a 13 plate berlingo automatic with the funny selector on the dash.
got a few issues that i wondered were normal or not.
all other auto's i've had when sitting in traffic on a slight hill the car will hold it and even maybe creep forward.
with the berlingo if i take my foot off the brake it rolls backwards even on a very slight uphill.
also when i go to pull away it really hesitates badly badly
and if i let the car creep forward by taking the footbrake off it judders just for a second or 2 as though it wants to stall.
the tickover is about 8-900
thanks steve

Probably all things are OK, as this is not an automatic transmission with a torque converter but an Automated Manual - ie a standard manual transmission with automated operation of the clutch and the gear selector.

I was in a traffic queue the other day (RTA) and kept the car on the footbrake for a long while. It didn't go into stop/start (actually it's yet to do that .. I think I'm not understanding the requirements) but did eventually put itself in neutral (dash display goes to N).
I had quite some difficulty getting it out of neutral again. The accelerator didn't do it, and nor did changing the selector to N and back to A. I stopped and restarted with the key eventually.
