stereo upgrade

got a 13 plate berlingo car with the standard single din stereo.
can i put one of the touch screen things in?
ideally i'd like satnav and a reversing camera but the aftermarket units cost a fortune and the wiring kit is an extra £100 :O

You can but will require a Connects2 box and patch kit for the brand. If the unit is a double din then you'll need to cut the middle bar out from the DIN slot and will obviously lose the storage tray.

CTSCT003.2AA is the connects2 I used.

Xtrons for example (there are others) offer single din units with flippy out mechanical screens, reverse cam functionality etc

I've just ordered a mirror cam to solve the reversing problem. Don't know how it will work out but they combine the functions of reversing and dash cam, and mount over the mirror. So better visibility than a standard rearview mirror, and no interference with the normal radio functions. They start at about 30 quid for one with a small 4.3" screen set into the mirror. Full mirror size 10" screen is about £50 up. There are plenty of open-box units on ebay half price. I don't know if this means they're crap and people ditch them - top end is about £130 and maybe that's worthwhile.

My radio has a USB socket and I'm just putting music on a USB stick to supplement the CD player. That might get a bit unmanageable with more than a few albums.

I use a Tomtom satnav, which fits neatly near the quarterlight. My wife's Fiesta has a factory satnav and I'm totally unimpressed with it - she hasn't had a map update in 3 years.
