Is there a way to replace the standard rear mirror with an automatic one ?

You mean one that darkens like the crap in the VW Caddy I drive at work?
There's a border along the edge about 3 or 4 mm wide that doesn't darken. Which means that every time you get a moron behind you, and the cargo area isn't stuffed up to the roof, you end up getting the light directly in your eyes.

When I get back to the office in the evenings, after a couple of hours of that, it feels GREAT to park that jalopy, get into my M49 and FLICK THE MIRROR DOWN!

Mine darkens just fine. I see no problem upgrading as it's a self sufficient device.
