Hi,
I'm starting on my Berlingo journey, I think. I've had a Mazda Bongo for the past six years (N reg) and we've been extremely happy together, I love everthing about it except for the 18mpg. So it's time for something more economical and the only van I'd consider instead would be a Berlingo.
I hope it'll be ok to ask a few questions, still swimming in the different options and models. Based in Bristol. 'Lo!

Ouch, that is low mileage. So far I'm averaging 49.6 mpg mostly city.

49.6!?! Good Lord. The places we'd go! 18mpg is around town, with 2 kids and a whole load of gear. I'm sure it wouldn't be that bad on the open road but it's bad, right?

18mpg? Ouch.
My 1.9 averages a smidge under 45mpg, steady away like. Yet to work out what I get when it's A) thrashed or B) bimbled.

Hi Janner, This is 5 years after your original post but I hope you still have a Berlingo. Like you did then, I am now moving to Berlingo ownership... had a Bongo for 5 years till 2016 and it was a fabulous campervan... We wanted something with an onboard toilet and larger bed so then bought a 20-year-old Elddis Eclipse motorhome... mpg about the same as the Bongo, comfortable enough but a real bugger to drive... and of course unable to get down those narrow streets in little European towns and villages... taking delivery tomorow of a 2015 1.6 Blue HDi XTR... Looking forward to Berlingo world!
