Fault Codes
#1
Hi

I have a peugeot 1999 model which is very similar to berlingo M49, and I took it today to computer diagnostics and I came out with fault codes which the diagnostics tool couldnt tell what it means. I was hoping to see if anyone knows what it means.

Fault Codes:

670A
6918
6528
660C
610D

Thanks in advance.

PS: The guy who was making the diagnostics said that a letter `P` could be attached at the front of these codes.

Did your guy delete them then recheck to see if they returned. ?

I think that at that age of your model you had to have a dedicated Citroen/Peugeot code reader. I remember having trouble reading codes with a cheap obd2 reader on a older vehicle like yours
A lexia /diagbox should read them

Odb standard was not mandatory until 2004 on diesels and 2001 on petrol engined ones. So your codes will be Peugeot ones not standardised ones.

If its running with no problems , no dash lights on etc, I would not worry about them.

PS only codes after 2004 has the P in front
2020 Rifter 1.5 allure
2010 B9 red XTR w a v.
2001 1.9d DW8B white  Berlingo
2005 2.l green Berlingo
2001 1.9d DW8B white  Berlingo
berlingo 1.4 red multispace
1993 xud 1.9 red partner

He has deleted them and they did not come back right away. He said that I should drive for a day or two and then try diagnostics again to see if they persist.

But I think I have found a way around that.

It turns out that the pressure relase valve on mono point injector is also a pressure regulator for fuel system. And my injector was pouring more fuel to the engine than it should be due to high pressure in fuel system that caused engine to work poorly with very low engine power (car could barely move itself). This morning I changed the fuel pressure gasket upside down (it seemed more logical that way since the bottom side that has contact with fuel had a cap like structure that probably moved under pressure of the fuel and allowed it to enter return channel). And engine stopped flooding and regained it power. I suspect the last mechanic who messed with that place put that gasket back incorrectly causing the pressure problem. I want to drive it for a while to see if fuel economy returned (it was burning 25 liters per 100 km) and maybe I will go for diagnostics again. But not the same guy as you said because his reader cant tell me whats wrong. And I searched internet for the meaning of the fault codes and found nothing.

Yes you are correct. There is no check engine light coming when engine starts (only when I turn keys on). Once engine starts engine light turns off. There is no mechanical problem in the engine.

The problem with diagnostics is in that that the official peugeot service center refuses to look at cars older than 10 years old. As if people who were working on these cars 10 years ago and shot on sight and replaced to make the company forget what it was doing 10 years ago.

Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. But that is Peugeot. Love it or leave it. If you can...
