Fixing plastic trim
#1
Can anyone recommend an adhesive that will work on outside bits of plastic trim?  My wing mirror got bashed a couple of years ago so that the two halves of plastic separated.  I haven't wanted to get a replacement if it's fixable (the plastic isn't broken - it just no longer holds together). I patched it up with gorilla tape, which has held it quite well, though looks a bit bodged. Are there any adhesives that will work outside and stick to plastic, and do a neater job than the tape?

If you ease out the mirror glass from its mount you may be able to access the 'back' of the repair and be able to use hot melt glue etc. or even glass fibre mat & gel, if you have any. I don't like Superglue much but is that a possibility?

I've never used a hot glue gun, but will look into that, thanks.  If buying glue and a gun is dearer than a new wing mirror, I'm guessing that it's a bit of kit that I could find a use for elsewhere too...?

I use UHU Por for all plastic repairs. It sticks foam and plastic.

Ah, that UHU Por looks promising.  According to UHU's web page - https://www.uhu.com/en/product-page.37252 -  it sticks various plastics and is also waterproof. Thanks.

I remember this from years ago "Im Falle eines Falles klebt UHU wirklich alles". Cool In case of an accident UHU sticks virtually anything
So where does this bit go then ?

U-pol tiger seal was the adhesive of choice for the 90's boy racer body kits ? works a treat and use it quite alot as a builder too super strong and super flexible ?
