Aerial/Loom
#1
Hello guys, The picture shows the connectors from the loom which feeds the o/head courtesy lights. One of the connectors is bagged up in sponge. Can anyone tell me what the bagged up connector is for and can I use it to power an amplified aerial? Wiring colours: 2 are red/white, 1 green/white, 1 brownish.

Why do you need an amplified aerial??? They may improve weak signals but also pull in everything else including unwanted interference...

You'll have to put a circuit tester on each wire and test them one at a time to see if the connector is live all the time, live with ignition or maybe live when interior lights are on.
This could be the connector for extra interior lights fitted with a modutop in a Multispace.

It's likely to be for the modutop which hosts two extra lights and a rear blower.

Firstly, thanks for all of your prompt replies.
I've bought one of those shark-fin type aerials; my own aerial was shredded. The new aerial has the facility to be amplified. I thought while I had the headlining off I'd look at somewhere to take power from. I have heard that these type of aerial can work ok without being powered up and I'll probably drive it around for a short while to suss that out.
Actually, it might suit me to draw in a weak signal; I run ipod/itrip transmitter.
I will, I guess, put a circuit tester on that connector anyway.
Cheers...
