[Engine] Timing belt replacement cost
#1
Hi
Hopefully someone will be able to help, what would the cost be to replace the timing belt, water pump / kit on a 12 plate 1.6 diesel multi space at a garage, any idea of the labour and parts costs ?

Also any suggestions regarding the parts kit, who to purchase from ( or would the garage purchase) ? And the quality

Thanks

Do a search for Citroen fixed price repairs.
£399 for belt
£120 for water pump

Most garages will only fit parts that they have supplied - with good reason, in that they make some profit on the parts but also it leaves you in a stronger position should the fitted parts fail, not only for the cost of replacement but also any additional labour. Try to find a good local garage and ask for a quote - the saying 'buy cheap, buy twice' is one to bear in mind!!

As above, it's best to get the garage that does the work to supply the parts, also a good idea to ask them the brand of parts they are going to use and what warranty they give on the work.
