Here's a long shot, not sure if anyone can help but would really be appreciated. Fuel rail pressure plug wiring, this van has been meddled with left right and center by previous owner(s), any way the wires for the fuel pressure sensor are White, Grey and Purple/Mauve. the wires on the plug when looking from the rear of the plug with the plug locking clip on top where in this order from left, White (pin1 - left), Grey (pin2 - middle), Purple (pin3- right) yet the white and purple wires where reversed as previously all wires been snipped 6 inches from plug and re-connected using bullet connectors. so the true wiring order of the pins to the sensor from left where 1- Purple, 2 - Grey, 3- White. Can anyone verify if they have the same vehicle wiring loom the colour order as doin ma head in, thanks. Berlingo 1.6hdi 2012.
Pin numbers are as per when looking into the sensor connection as moulded/inprinted in base, although have read that pin1 for example is classed as centre pin on plug.
Replacement engine starts but after couple secs runs rough, loud diesel knock if rev slightly and smoke from joint with turbo/DPF. New lower DPF filter fitted. TIA.

Update, swapped injectors of original engine as 2 from new seemed a bit gammed with crap but still no luck so checked timing and was out by about 2 teeth (should had checked before dropping engine in), now feel 4 good lots of even compression when turning crank by hand, engine seems to run more as it should but after a 10-15 secs the diesel knock is back and loads smoke through exhaust, message on centre display 'engine fault repair needed' and then cuts out and wont start unless I prime the fuel filter with bulb. Also fan starts at when cuts out which is to do with regeneration of DPF? Also checked the fuel filter which seemed to be darker coloured fuel as I think the Eloys pump has been pumping.
As per earlier post, if I wire the fuel sensor as per how it was originally it wouldnt start so connected wires from loom to plug with pins 1 & 3 reversed which would match the order on the original plug but now the timing is corrected I'm wondering if these 2 wires need to be reversed so back as when I got the van. Doin ma head in now an packed up for day as dark and rain.
Any suggestions appreciated as seem to be alot closer to gettin the damm thing back on road.

Have you not got a fault code reader ?. Even a OBD11 reader may give a clue to your problems.
Dont the injectors need to be coded in ?

Hi Yes got diagbox but will put on tomorrow an see what it throws up, yesterday the engine fault warning on centre display didnt show any faults in diag box ?????
Also didnt think injectors needed coding as would learn in ecu although I didnt expect such eratic and less performance etc

Latest, swapped turbo for original which seems to allow the engine to run more as it should, didn’t seem as if it was happy to increase revs from about 900rpm but seemed to run stable for a couple of mins then started to run uneven and when revved the knocking was back and then cut out until restart again which still didn’t seem right. The excessive smoke seemed to had disappeared. No faults on diagbox.

FIXED. As the blown engine had done 184k and replacement 15k I bought a new rail pressure sensor thinking it wouldnt do any harm however had to reverse the wires to pins 1 & 2 to opposite of the original as per above in order to get it to run although was like a bag of spanners and kept having to pump the priming bulb each time it stopped. Today put the original sensor from old engine and swapped wires back to how they were at first and 'presto' the darn thing runs like new. The new sensor I bought that was supposedly for the same engine obviously was faulty or I'd been given the wrong one.
