Hi all

Does anyone know of how to get some internal roof bars for my berlingo?? I need to hang bike helmets and jackets to dry.

Thanks all

The official ones cost a small fortune from the dealers and are also usually very expensive on the like of ebay as a result.

If you dont require the increased depth that the official ones provide then you can do as I have done and use a telescopic washing line pole (with the hook cut off) or a telescopic shower rod and just extend them onto the cavities provided in your vehicle.

Yeah I saw the 169 price tag for the proper ones..
I.might give that a whirl as don't need the depth just some extra storage up there

Thanks for the ideas

In this much earlier post you'll see how I used the internal roof rack fixing points to provide cargo anchoring points which I use for holding bikes in place but can be used for anything. https://www.berlingoforum.com/thread-13929.html

M8 hex boltheads fits pretty snugly in the mounting points, so if you put one in each ond of a telescoping rod, you're all set.

I used a £1 IKEA curtain rod that came with threaded inserts already in the end (M5 i think) and used a washer and a nut on a bolt to attach to the slot under the cap. it retracts to 700mm so can be stored easier.

here is the link to the curtain rail i used - https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/raecka-curt...-70221395/

I have attached some pictures for reference

Hope this helps and cant go wrong for £1 plus 2 bolts 2 nuts and 2 washers!
