Hi,

Can anyone tell me what these warnings are about and what I need to do ?

There is nothing in the owners manual about them

Thanks Paul.

Thanks, can anyone confirm this ?   Would seem to me the message is quite specific and it could be a definitive problem such as DPF fluid low suggested by OMG.

And assuming this is the case is it simply a matter of buying the fluid and pouring it into a reservoir somewhere in the engine ? Or is it more involved than that and something that would usually be done by a mechanic ?

Yes it is a DPF fluid. Not AdBlue!

It's a small container next to the right rear wheel.

You can fill it yourself, but it's not as simple as filling the windscreen washer reservoir...

After the filling the ECU should be updated with a Lexia that the filling has been performed. Otherwise the alert will not disappear.

Thanks for that link. It sounds to me from reading it that it is triggered by fuel refills and is not necessarily indicative of a problem right now. Would that be correct ? I do get that if the reservoir goes empty you will have a problem and it seems that tank refills is the only way of estimating what level it is at.

Seems analagous to a timing belt warning light based on distance

I'm not 100% sure of how it works, but it would be best to check to see if there is any fluid remaining.

Dealer is telling me the 2012 Berlingo has a container rather than a pouch which holds 3.5 litres. Fluid is about 70 euro + VAT a litre and they reckon they would need to do a regenerative cycle and reset the error. I was asking would that not happen automatically and they said no. Usually it takes a few hours and comes in about 450 euro.

How does this sound ?

It is a pouch inside a tank looking cover. You need Lexia Diagbox to reset the counters. A pouch is around £70 from eBay, but the colour of the neck on your old pouch must match the one you buy as the fluid changed chemistry several times and the pouch neck colour identifies which chemical yours is using. £450 is ridiculous. The "tank" unbolts from the floor, just ahead of the drivers rear wheel, under the cover is the pouch and pump.. Unplug the pouch neck connector, plug a new pouch in and close the cover.

It can't reset itself, as it figures out it is empty by counting the fill-ups of Diesel. It has no sensor. Only Diagbox can reset that counter.
