How to replace AUX USB port
#1
Hi,

I'm not sure what is the exact name of this part that is an AUX-USB port in my Berlingo. It's in a separate box. I attached a picture of it. A while ago it stopped working, whenever I insert an USB drive, it says it's unable to read it. I wanted to get it replaced but I have no idea how to get it out from the panel. Does someone have a similar box? I found a replacement part on Ebay which has a picture of the part. So I can see what is the piece I need to get out, but however I tried to pull it out, it didn't work, and I'm afraid of breaking the plastic frame around. I'm able to remove the radio above so I can access it from the back too, but to no avail.

Any suggestions are more than welcome,

I don't have the AUX-USB on my Berlingo but the whole bottom tray [which is the same as your vehicle except without the AUX-USB] just pulls out, the whole tray pulls out by just pulling it towards you.

I would see if a small flat headed screw driver can be pushed into the recess at the bottom of the item . Suspect there is probably a release clip . Looking at the picture the item slides in and the plastic catch at the bottom pushes over indent in dash. So prising it carefully down and pulling hopefully it will come out!

The recess at the bottom is for the corresponding tag on the hinged socket cover (on the top of the cover in the photo).

I would pull the radio out with the prong tools then the tray below can probably be flipped out to get at the usb socket. They usually have two tangs that you press to then slide out the front after unplugging the electric connector.
Are we there yet????? Huh
Ex 1.6hdi van now 3 seater 1.4 multispace
