When one strays outside one's lane does the system just give a audible warning or does it tug the steering as well? Not that I have it on mine but just interested how it reacts.

Hi
I have never heard an audible alert, but I am deaf!! The light flashes and there is a 'twitch' on the steering.
It is more of an annoyance than an asset in my humble opinion.

I asked the same question last week and the answer was correct. However, I have never heard an alarm. I suspect that the twitch on the wheel is to draw attention to the fact that you have strayed from the straight and narrow, particularly if you are falling asleep at the wheel. That twitch should be sufficient to wake you up. You can disable it by pressing the button under the dashboard on the right-hand side.

Mine will make a noise as well, a beep, if I ignore the pull to the side. Also if the car reasonably dramatically crosses the lane markers rather than just drifting up to them.
An added extra is that at times a notification will flash up telling me to put both hands on the steering wheel.
I know this because one day I was curious as to if on a motorway I could let it steer me in one lane. It did for a while but seemed to get increasingly angry at me.
Now a 2019 K9 1.2 petrol.
Before a 2010 B9 1.6 HDi diesel.

You get five things.
An audible beep, a flash of the lane departure symbol, steering wheel turning you back into your lane or a message on the dash that says take control of the wheel. In extreme cases it will also tell you check direction of oncoming traffic.
Personally I've become used to it now - I find driving other cars a bit strange without it.

Noticed mine doesn't seem to like driving on the M1 - it seems to be constantly beeping, flashing and tugging the wheel on each of the few occasions I have driven that road, while it is fine on the M20, M2, M26, M25

Were there previous road markings on the road - mine seems to pick those up and throws a right fit

I've never noticed this feature so, assuming my van has it, it's probably not its default mode and I've never switched it on. Does it only operate on motorways? It could be useful there, but probably more of an annoyance on standard roads. What happens if you start to overtake a cyclist and move toward the centre lines - does it tug at the wheel to take you on a collision course with the cyclist?

It just gives a twitch, certainly nothing like a pull on the steering. It would not force you to come back into lane. Just a hint for you to be aware.

If you indicate before pulling out it doesn't activate.
Re the previous road markings, Tree, no don't think so, I just thought the M1 lanes must be that little bit narrower.
