[Warning Light] Side impact sensor for airbag, fault.
#1
Hi there!
My first post at this forum.
My 2007 1,6 (90 hp) diesel Berlingo is showing the airbag warning light.
I had done a scan at a nearby garage.
I was told the error code was  211 and had something to do with configuration of side impact sensor at the passenger side.

My questions are:
Does my car have this sensor?
If so, where is it located? Inside the door?

I could not find any reference to code 211 in any discussions at the web, including this forum. I suspect I have been given the wrong code from the garage. (Normally there is a letter in these codes, I have noticed.)

I belive I have done the basics, checked plugs under seats, plugs at the airbag controlunit under the mid console, the passenger airbag-switch, and the BSI reset a few times. So any experience from you guys would be very welcome. Thanks.

usually a four or five  figure number for a fault code with a code letter eg P for power train, B for body , C for chassis an U for wiring, canbus.
If its a airbag fault code then it should begin with B or U

I think you've been given the wrong or incomplete code .
Try a generic scanner which are quite cheap (elm 327 ) and can be run on a mobile or find someone with lexia or try another garage.

Found  a code for U 0211   " Lost Communication With "Seat Control Module D" " .

Which may be the wiring in or under the seat, earlier models had problems with the wiring connectors under the seats. Check the connections under the seats.

Thank you brodfather11!
I have ordered my OBD code reader today. I assume even if I would manage to find and fix the problem without the ELM 327, I still would have to return to a garage for another 100 USD clear-code-job. So a 10-15 USD device would be worth a try.
I will check the connectors under the passenger seat again, before doing anything more timeconsuming.
