Evening all, hoping someone can shed some light on an issue I am having, please.
I purchased the below vehicle in October 2021 (2017 plate), and within the first 1week and 5days I experienced violet juddering on 4 separate occasions when starting from stationary. This ranged from starting cold off my drive, when trying to reverse after driving for a short amount of time, and other occasions when the engine was definitely warm.
I have had it back to the Pentagon dealership I bought it from and I was first told they realigned a bearing within the gearbox, then told by someone else there they reprogrammed the gearbox. They said this fixed it but it certainly hasn't.
The dealership have had the vehicle back on two occasions and on the second occasion deny there is a fault with the vehicle at all, although they claimed to have "fixed it" when they had it back the first time. When the violent juddering happened again after the first visit to the garage, it was actually worse. The car wouldn't stop violently juddering, physically throwing you forwards and backwards in the vehicle as it did on all the other times, but now it was worse because it wouldn't stop juddering (other than foot on brake as with all the other times). I had to drive through the juddering and as the revs increased/gear change kicked in it stopped throwing me about and drive normally.
I don't know what they have assessed, but they did say they would strip it down to do a full fault investigation, then because they couldn't recreate the fault said they didn't strip it because there isn't a fault...surely parts would need to be checked for faults?? Or is that my common sense kicking in?? ?
I've seen some juddering posts but no outcome of how they we're fixed. Does anyone have advice of what may be causing this violent juddering? This is a semi automatic gearbox and has only done 4,000 miles. It was mobility registered before I bought it. I have the last juddering on video (bit rubbish because I'm holding it), I would have recorded it sooner if I knew the dealership would mess me about as they have. I can't attach it now but will keep trying.
