Both Air Bag lights on
#1
Sad
Evening all.  My 2003 Berlingo has both Airbag lights on the car came too me with these on. Reading through posts etc I’ve looked at some of the wires and it would appear a previous owner has had fun with them too.  Lots of cut and shut cables.  I’ve pulled off the electrical tape off all the joints I could find and all seem to be making contact.

After advice what to check and how to check.  Hopefully having both on it will point to something.

Thanks

Is there any problem with the ABS or is that just a typing error in the title of the thread?

Thumbs Up
Cool

The plugs can cause a bad connection so some people cut them off and join the wires, sounds like that is the case with yours.
Getting rid of the plug and joining the wires normally cures any problems, how are the wires joined, twisted together, in a connector block, or soldered?

Thanks for the reply.

They are twisted and taped under the seat.  It’s my intention to solder and shrink wrap them in today.  But some of the wires have been cut just off the control box in front of the gear stick.  Not sure if someone has been trying to cure something unsuccessfully….

It sounds like someone has had a good go at it, hopefully you will be able to reconnect any cut wires & solder the others to solve the problem.

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks. Will do. If I don’t get it sorted the. It’s scrap. Not worth paying someone to fix…. Engine solid etc not too bad as it goes but not worth investing

Have you had a look at the OBD error codes, maybe they can be reset? Lexia would maybe give more info too.
