Is there a simple way of covering a small scratch (1 inch) in the sliding door window. Any one sorted such a thing. I did it transporting a bike. Eventually I would forget all about it but at the moment my eye gets drawn to it. I have Googled for it and tried a felt tip pen without success. I think there are patches but they seem to be in the US.

Is the glass tinted with film?
If so it may be worth trying heat, from a hair drier or carefully from a heat gun. this combined with a bit of manual manipulation may get the gap to close up.

Be careful with heat guns if you go down that route - the first time I used a heat gun, I thought it'd speed up removing paint off a skirting board, but I only succeeded in burning the carpet... I'd only try using one if the scratch is at least several inches away from any rubber seals or painted panelwork etc. I'd also be wary about how the glass would respond to such localised heating - the brittleness of glass means it isn't very good at differential expansion (though toughened or laminated glass might behave differently).
On the point of not noticing the scratch once you get used to it, I've had a stone chip in the windscreen of my M49 for over a decade, and I never notice it these days, even though it's on the driver's side and often gets a comment from MOT stations (though it's not a failable flaw).

The tint is a film. I have tried a permanent marker but it is not dark enough. I might try a bit of black paint applied with a toothpick.
