Mirrorlink and Android Auto issues
#1
Hello there!
I have a 2016 Berlingo II B9 1.6 Blu HDi 100 Multispace Flair.
Over our years of ownership I have had various Android phones, none of which will mirror their screen onto the Berlingo as I was led to believe was possible.
In the early days, I took it into our Exeter dealer and a guy managed to mirror his Apple phone but wasn't clued up enough to get it working on my Android phone. My currrent phone is a Samsung A10.
Has anyone else been able to connect an Android phone and, if so, how please?
Cheers and a Happy New Year!
Brian, Exeter

Hi there, from all accounts that function has never worked with Android phones. I think the software in the head unit was quickly non compatible with versions of Android later than the one it was launched with. That part never seems to have been updated.

Thank you for the reply even if it wasn't what I had hoped for!
At least I can stop struggling now.
Not worth buying an Apple phone just for the compatibilty.

I moved from Apple to Android a couple of years ago and was disappointed that the Mirrolink didn't work when I got the XTR. However, I had kept the old Apple phone as a backup with a GiffGaff cheapo SIM and use that connected to Car Play if I need the mapping.

Hi all. Wondering if there might be a software update out there somewhere that now allows Android Auto use by USB with this touchscreen? I have an 18 reg Multispace.
I do use an iphone with this screen but my usual phone is an android and I am much more comfortable using this. It has both Android Auto and mirrorlink facilities. Idea

Just doing a reality check.
I have a Citroen Berlingo Multispace 2016 II B9 04/2008  1.6 BlueHDi 100
The head unit asks for a Mirrorlink connection but this is no longer available as I am sure everyone is aware BUT is it really not possible to update the system software so it can use Android Auto?
Brian
PS Anyone tried the Carlinkit 4.0? https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0B7JK3M5K

Yes it’s really not possible.
Sad

The last (final?) firmware for this head unit is SMEG6.4.A.R10 CD: 31210 Dated: 16-06-17.

I have the CarlinKit 4.0 and (for Sat Nav) it works reasonably well.
Others have reported lags with media and hands free.

Also I’ve seen someone suggest a (cheaper) gadget from AliExpress.

But I have no experience with that gadget.

To use either of those you need to have working CarPlay on your head unit.
For this you need one of the later (latest) versions of firmware and for CarPlay to be enabled.

Another reality check if you don't mind David.
So, you don't have Android Auto on your car system, just Apple Carplay and Mirrorlink?
And somehow these devices can link to Carplay and allow the use of an Android phone to, for instance, mirror Google Maps on your cars screen?
Sorry to be dim but that just seems too good to be true!
