Berlingo speedo query
#1
Looking for some advice and help regarding the speedo on my 2007 Berlingo 1.6 diesel van.

It was fairly sharp this morning and I had to de-ice the windows on the van before using it. After approx 2 miles driving into town I noticed the speedo had stopped working. After driving for a further ½ mile or so the speedo starting working again and has continued to work ok since.

When the weather permits is there any maintenance I can carry out to help prevent this from happening again? I dont even know whether it is cable operated or fly by wire Undecided

Any suggestions and offers of help would be appreciated Wink

The speedo is driven by an electrical connection on the gearbox, near to the driver's / right hand driveshaft. It's common for that connector to develop a poor connection. Normally a wiggle of connector restores things. There are some posts on here about it, but they are from quite some time ago.

Many thanks cancunia for taking the time to reply Wink

I did read your reply earlier and the poor connection perhaps best explains what happened to mine this morning. I have since carried out a search of this website and found several posts relating to speedo failure although as you mention they were quite a some time ago.
