annoying Knocking sound from engine

Afternoon all.
I have a 1.6 hdi and ive recently developed an annoying knocking sound on the engine.
The van itself runs great, a little smokey on start up but the knocking noise has gradually got louder to the point im worried to use it in case i make things worse.
I have scanned it today and its thrown up P1471, P0122, P0098 and P0341

Hopefully someone can shed some light on what these are and maybe point me in the right direction of how i can go about fixing it.

While you are waiting for a better answer, have you done Google search on "OBD code"..... then the code?

the po122 throttle position sensor and p0098 air intake temperature may be caused by the P0341code.

your P0341 relates to the camshaft position sensor.

A possibility is that the sensor is sending false or faulty readings. It may be that the injection timing is out  slightly and what you are getting is pre-ignition or early fuel injection.

If it is this then this can cause loud worrying knocking noises and will cause damage eventually.

Someone else  may know better and could know more about this code.
