No more petrol or diesel Berlingos!

I wonder if I will even get the diesel Berlingo I ordered in October ? My local dealer has no info on when or even if the car will be built. If they can’t tell me by February then they can return my £200 deposit & I will try & get a diesel Dacia Duster. I want a diesel car to tow my 1 tonne caravan. My current Berlingo is coming up to 5yrs old. I would have kept it longer but from the way things seem to be heading I want to change it for a basic fossil fuelled car while I still can.

I can still configure a diesel van - for the moment......

I was in the local Barrets dealership in Folkestone today and asked them if the price of the electric version was going to be reduced? Their opinion was no.

They said that they understood that Citroen had too many existing outstanding orders for petrol and diesel versions to be able to cope within reasonable timescales, and therefore did not want to add to the production backlog. Therefore they believe that Citroen will keep electric version prices high as they do not want to increase demand.

Ah, interesting.  So for all those folks thinking of buying electric now, be aware that prices will likely fall once the backlog of existing diesel/petrol orders has been cleared....
