Berlingo Steering Wheel Squib
#1
Hello,

I have an issue with my 05 Berlingo Steering Wheel Squib. I am looking for a replacement but its proving difficult. My current one has the Steering wheel controls for the radio and is part number 96530925xt.

Is anybody able to advise if i can get a different item (not same part number) to repair this?

Thanks

Do you mean the section behind the steering wheel that houses the various stalks for lights, indicators, wipers/washers, cruise control, etc?

It's not a single item but is made up of several units each controlling the different functions. What exactly is the issue you are having?

I've got an airbag fault and when I had the car scanned it's the drivers airbag squib which is in the steering wheel.

Haha.

It is unlikely that you would need to replace the whole COM2000 unit or squib as you call it. Some of these suffer from a broken or dodgy airbag earth connection. Open, clean contacts, reconnect and see if it helps. Careful with the airbag.

A squib in my area is a small firework like a penny banger , also known as a damp squib which instead of going off with a bang , it just fizzled out due to dampness when stored. A damp squib is the same as a lead balloon.

Therefore :-
a post that mentions , Squib + airbag = ?????, what !, you cant replace a squib in the airbag. !
