[Transmission] Creaky Clutch
#1
My 2011 Multispace 1.6HDi has developed a creaky clutch pedal at 101,000 miles.
Will this model have a hydraulic or cable clutch? I suspect hydraulic. In which case, am I looking at a new slave cylinder?
Thanks.

Welcome to the forum. The squeaky clutch pedal is a well known issue on the 1.6 M59, but yours is a B9. In any case, have a quick search for clutch pedal and it may turn up what you need.

The squeaky clutch pedal on my 1.6 HDi is the spring on the pedal. Greased up and no issue after that. I tend to find it goes like this through constant use as the grease must just wear away. It can be a pain in the arse to get the grease well in between the coils but it certainly worked for me.

I've taken another look at this and the creak seems to be coming from the engine side at the clutch slave cylinder or the linkage attached to it. Is the linkage serviceable or do I need to get another slave cylinder?

There is a known issue on the B9 where the slave cylinder creaks but getting grease into it is awkward. I think someone on here injected grease into the boot on the slave cylinder actuator pin. You may be able to get silicone spray inside the boot with the straw that comes with the tins
