If you remove the black blanking plugs you may be able to see into the area where you want to drill your holes. If not then feel with you hands .
I think you'll be OK because you are drilling above the tyre line and into a space where a rivet nut will not interfere with anything . Be gentle when you drill and don't hit the inside of the outer panel.

Isn't the fuel tank in that general area?
I think you'll need to take a look under to verify.

Thanks for the replies. I'll have a look once its back, Atm the cars away having a new ball joint and a full serviced they were short staffed yesterday didn't manage to get it all done before closing.
