Hi, Broke the glass on my touch screen was gonna get a second-hand unit from Fleabay. I was wondering if anyone knows are they coded to vehicle vin number?
Also if they are, it looks like the front screen section could be swapped for my broken one.
It's been impossible so far to find one with the exact same part number, I think because mine has no built-in sat-nav. Does anyone know if one with built-in sat-nav will work?

I don't think they are coded to the vehicle, my only reason for saying this is that I remember seeing one for sale where the seller said it was just plug and play

Ok so here is where I am at. I replaced the whole unit and everything is working much better than the old unit as far as the screen response etc. The unit however bleeps non stop. I have tried the reboot by holding down the Volum buttons but it just comes back. I think this is the "Anti-Theft" response to being a new vehicle.
Does anyone know what software is needed to recode?

Diagbox should do this. They are all coded to the vin number of the original vehicle as standard. The one Matt saw may have had the EPROM edited to remove the vin check before being sold.

Thanks, Still trying to find someone around here to reset the vin code. Popping into a spares outlet tomorrow that have Lexia but they say a quite old version. So may not work.
Citroen didn't believe they can be recoaded, but wanted £100 to try.
Anyway as far as replacing the actual touch screen, If I could find an exact match it would be quite simple. It's also very easy to remove the screen unit from the main unit, with just a few screws. So would also be fairly easy to swap this whole screen unit onto my old main unit. However this one works much better than mine ever did, so I am still hoping to get the Vin changed.
To be honest I am starting to wonder if it's worth getting the software from Ebay and charging a small fee to others for a resets to pay for it.
Does anyone know if other diagnostic software like the garage version of Snapon would be able to do this, or is it only Lexia3 that can?

Only DiagBox / Lexia can do that level of configuration that I've seen. Snap on stuff is diagnosis only afaik.
It's not dear to get Diagbox software and a Lexia interface but there are hurdles to installation and it's not so easy if you aren't a bit handy with a laptop. Also a bit of a curve using it, you can break stuff permanently if you fiddle with it randomly. Including bricking the car / ECU / bsi.
You probably only need v7.63 / 7.68 for any B9.

Thanks, I'm quite handy with software and PCs, built my own many times and my Mrs is in software development.
We did something similar with our Astra, added lots of stuff including cruise control.
There seems to be a wide range of them for sale on ebay, I suspect some are better than others, I will need to look into it. But will wait and see how tomorrow goes.

Ok, I'm a controls engineer so I get where you're coming from. Buy the cheapest one you can and then follow the steps implicitly. Miss one step and it's uninstall the whole lot, roll back and start again. Takes an entire evening to install this..needs win 7 32 bit, and don't upgrade past 7.63-7.68 as the config options mostly disappear after that.
I write Windows apps for a living too. This is a pig to set up. Once working, it's not too bad to use. It was written by Citroen for Frenchmen so don't expect it to be too intuitive.
It's no OpCom btw....don't underestimate the install. You will swear a lot.

I Have an old laptop somewhere with win 7 on I may just format it and get a clean install. I did notice one seller offering to install Via Teamviewer.
Am I right thinking the newer versions 9+ can install on more modern systems using VM?
