Washers not working
#1
Hi all neither the front or rear windscreen washers are working. I can’t hear the pump when I operate the steering wheel stalk. Before I start trying to fix can anyone point me in the right direction as to where the fuse box is, which fuse to check and anything else that might be the problem.

Many Thanks

The fuse is 10A number 3 or 4 in the engine bay fuse-box but it will be the infamous washer pump failure, located behind the drivers wheel arch liner, towards the front. Reuse the rubber seal between washer bottle and pump, and remember to get the twin outlet model. These are under £20 from Amazon and pretty much blueprints to the original.

I'll dig out my fuse diagram and tell you for sure but I would bet my last tenner you are on your way to fitting a new pump.

Ok, so it is F3 in the engine bay box. Here are all the fuses from the Haynes manual as the online guides on t'internet are garbage and always wrong for the B9 (usually showing the M59 and claiming to be for the B9)

You want attachments 2 and 3 for your issue. But, it is likely to be the pump itself.

Thank you very much Zion the information was spot on I replaced the fuse and they are now working so fingers crossed.

The problem I find with modern cars is that you can cause more problems than you solve the days of hitting the starter motor with a hammer are gone so the help that Zion gave me is invaluable

Excellent news, glad to hear it was only the fuse.
