Water leak around door frame
#11
And the fact Citroen put no drain holes in, other than those blocked by the rubber seal rivets...

I suppose Citroen's thinking is that in the south of France it's much more likely that the mud from the fields these glorified 2CVs are designed for will make its way in via vent holes than via window rubbers.

I pulled the strips off and water came out for around 5 minutes. Check yours, it could just be that. Mine was getting inside via the speaker holes etc.

Needless to say, I left the strips off. No noise and no more water getting stuck in the doors.

Had a look at the bottom of the door, but couldn't see any rubber seals - just plastic door trim.  I've attached a couple of pics - both show the underside of the door, with red-painted metal and plastic trim. Afraid one of them gets a bit out of focus away from the camera, though it would only show a continuation of the in-focus section. The other one shows a small hole on the underside of the trim.

Yeah it is different from the B9. I guess that hole could be drainage?

Looking at it again just now, I think that little hole just drains the storage pockets in the door.

It's really hard to see where the water might be coming from.  There's often water around the little holes in the rubber seal at the bottom of the door frame (see pic), though it's not possible to see whether the water is coming out of these or not.  I don't know what function these holes serve - there are also some at the top (see other pic).

They probably prevent the seal from bursting when the door is closed.

So on the bottom face of the actual door itself, facing the ground, there are no holes or seals at all?

Yes, as Zion said, these hole are for some of the air to escape when you slam the door and equalize the pressure. Similar thing to the air vents in the rear tailgate (or was it at the rear sides), there is too much air pressure when it is closed and the windows might burst.

On my M59 the rubber seal is all around the door, odd that the bottom of yours does not have one. There is no sealing against water from metal on metal, even metal on plastic is pretty rubbish.

There are a couple of holes - one in each corner.   No sign of blockage or water seepage.

That's the drain holes I was looking for. Can't be getting in via the window seals then.
