Strange Alarm/Hazard Issue?

Hey guys, looking for a little help.

The other day I had been driving and I noticed the hazards flashed on the dash (green indicator Arrows) for a few secs and then stopped. Ignored it. It then happened again 5 mins later and would sporadically come on randomly. I wasn't sure that they were actually flashing but upon parking up and leaving the engine running, sure enough the lights would come on for a few secs. Now, The van had a battery issue a month ago and it ended up going completely dead and being jump started a few times. I work away and my father was wanting to use it before I could get a new battery. I hoped that once I fitted the new battery it would solve the issue but it's still there. Tried a BSI Reset and still the same. 

I know that when he hazards come on, I cant hear the relay switch in the steering column (I think) clicking on and off, I had also noticed that when I unlock and lock the car with the key fob the hazards mostly don't flash at all, and tonight I tested the alarm trying to set it off and couldn't get it to activate. 

Any ideas?
